Research

The scientific research activities of the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs adopt both the basic and applied research approaches with concern mainly to two specific areas. The first involves topics surrounding work, i.e. employment policy, the labour market, human resources development, income and wage policy, working conditions, social dialogue and collective bargaining. The second concerns the social field, including research into issues surrounding pensions and health insurance, state social support and social assistance, family policy, equal opportunities, demographic development, the development of the social structure, living conditions and living standards.

The Institute works in close cooperation with state administration bodies, local government authorities, trade unions and employers’ organisations and universities and other scientific and research institutions based both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
