Integrity and Ethics
Research Institute for Labor and Social Affairs places emphasis on high ethical standards in research and professional activities, transparent management of public funds, and the responsible management of a public research institution.
Ethical framework and risk prevention in research and professional activities
The institutional framework for integrity, ethics, and risk prevention at RILSA consists primarily of the following documents:
- RILSA Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics defines the basic values and principles governing research and related professional activities at RILSA, particularly in the areas of research integrity, data handling, publishing, and public appearances by employees.
- Internal Anti-Corruption Program
The internal anti-corruption program defines a system for preventing corruption risks and ensuring the transparent operation of the institution, including risk management in the handling of public funds, project implementation, and cooperation with external entities, as well as the management of related and institutional risks.

- Whistleblower Protection
RILSA has implemented an internal whistleblowing system in accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act, which enables the safe reporting of potential illegal or unethical behavior.
Guideline No. S/03/2023 Protection of whistleblowers at the obligated entity
- Ehtics committee
All of RILSA’s employees adhere to the respective professional ethics principles in the performance of their work and follow basic moral principles. The Institute and its employees fully respect freedom of research principles and adhere to the RILSA Code of Ethics.
Armed with an awareness of the above principles, all RILSA’s employees approach their work responsibly, prioritise democratic principles and gender equality and follow the “do no significant harm” approach. This applies to both the study of society and its cultural values and the impacts of their work on the environment.
The RILSA Ethics Committee comprises an advisory body that reports to the Director of the Institute and plays an important role in terms of creating and maintaining an ethically responsible environment. The committee is responsible for the assessment of both ethical issues in general, including the supervision of compliance with the RILSA Code of Ethics, and the ethical aspects of specific research activities.
The RILSA Ethics Committee is bound by the RILSA Rules of Procedure and meets as required.
The Ethics Committee can be contacted using the form provided via the following e-mail address etika@rilsa.cz.
These documents form part of the system for managing the integrity, quality, and transparency of RILSA’s operations.
