Description:

The aim of the project is to evaluate the mutual effects of the child tax benefit and the child allowance on the socio-economic situation of families with children. On the basis of theoretical models it is possible to predict the various effects of individual instruments, and field surveys conducted among affected families serve on the one hand as a source of information for the modelling of specific situations and, on the other, they provide a comprehensive picture of the effects of such instruments on real family behaviour. The added value of this research consists of the interdependence of both key activities and the resulting research synergies. The research focuses both on analysing the redistribution effects of the child allowance and the child tax benefit through modelled family types and on the real influence of these measures on the decision-making of (potential) parents with respect to parenting and the motivation to work. The results will be used for conceptual purposes by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in the area of non-insurance social and family benefits as well as for the needs of the Family Report.
