Description:

The project focuses on the regular assessment of the adequacy of the statutory minimum wage in the Czech Republic in accordance with the requirements of EU Directive 2022/2041 and the amended Labor Code (Act No. 230/2024 Coll.). As part of the project, comprehensive analyses of the adequacy of the minimum wage are conducted based on established criteria, which serve as the basis for drafting a government regulation on the coefficients used to calculate the minimum wage and for consultations with social partners within the RHSD. The project also utilizes a new administrative data source (JMHZ) to identify employees in the lowest wage brackets and links individual wage data with household data, thereby enabling an examination of the minimum wage’s impact on household income and on social policy institutions.
