Predicting Socioeconomic Inequalities, Debt, and Material Deprivation Among Older Adults – A Microsimulation Approach
The project addresses demographic aging and its impact on the socioeconomic situation of older adults in the Czech Republic. Its goal is to develop a dynamic microsimulation model that will enable the prediction of trends in inequality, material deprivation, and debt among older adults over the long term.
The project analyzes not only the situation of older adults themselves but also the indirect impacts on families, particularly through financial support for older household members. Special emphasis is placed on differences between urban and rural areas and on identifying the most vulnerable groups.
The result will be an analytical tool usable for the development and evaluation of public policies, which will enable better targeting of measures in the areas of the pension system, social benefits, and the prevention of poverty in old age.
