Description:

The Family Report, compiled for the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs according to a mandate from the Expert Committee for Family Policy, focuses principally on the present situation with respect to families and a description of the current state of affairs in the light of developments in recent years. It is designed so as both to highlight the latest developments with concern to trends in the various monitored areas and to fill the substantial time gap since the compilation of the last National Family Report in 2004. The aim was to paint a portrait of the contemporary Czech family, highlighting the main features and fundamental changes that have occurred in recent years, i.e. since approximately 2000. The content of the Family Report focuses on key topics that directly affect the lives of contemporary Czech families, within which major changes are taking place influenced by changing socio-economic and cultural conditions, and/or topics that form the subject of expert and public debate.
