Adequacy of the Minimum Wage and the Socioeconomic Situation of Households in the Czech Republic
The project focuses on regular assessment of the adequacy of the statutory minimum wage in the Czech Republic in line with the requirements of EU Directive 2022/2041 and the amended Labour Code (Act No. 230/2024 Coll.). It produces comprehensive minimum wage adequacy analyses based on established criteria, which serve as inputs for the preparation of government regulations setting the minimum wage calculation coefficients and for consultations with social partners within the RHSD tripartite body. The project also leverages a new administrative data source (JMHZ) to identify employees remunerated at the lowest wage levels and links individual wage data with household-level information, enabling analysis of the minimum wage’s impact on household income and on social policy instruments.
