Identifying the barriers and requirements of persons at risk of addiction (alcohol, illegal drugs and pathological gambling)
The project focuses on identifying the basic economic situation of clients, i.e. income (social benefits), expenses, repossession charges, debts and their housing situation. The aim of the project will be to describe their potential for participation in the labour market. At the same time, the various other needs of such persons will be investigated, i.e. the need for addictology intervention, medical treatment and counselling. The project will also present proposals for systemic changes with concern to the provision of addictology services. It is assumed that the results will lead to the more effective use of funding provided for the integration of such persons into the labour market. The results of the project will also be used in the upcoming systemic proposal for changes to the provision, and the establishment of a network, of addictological services. Moreover, the definition and quantification of the barriers faced by those at risk of addiction will lead to an improvement in the targeting of addictology services.
