Family Report 2026
The aim of the project is to continue the series of complex reports on the Czech family. These reports focus on the latest trends in family behavior within the current societal framework. Due to their synthetic nature, they are unique and serve as support for the conceptual and strategic activities of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (e.g. ex post evaluation of family policy measures and revision of the Family Policy Strategy 2024–2030, setting national subsidy titles in the field of family policy and also addressing the international agenda in the field of family policy), but also of other entities (other ministries, local governments, non-profit organizations, social and legal protection bodies for children, guardianship judges, etc.).
In 2026, the first part of the report will focus on a summary of trends in family life in recent years. The aim of the second, thematic part will be primarily to identify changes in reproductive behavior in various groups of women and men according to age, education, number of children, family situation (e.g. reconstituted family) and socioeconomic status, including housing situation. Attention will also be paid to reproductive plans and value orientations, and in particular to state measures that can or do influence the implementation of reproductive plans (both in terms of their support and, conversely, in terms of barriers). One of the results will be proposals for measures that would help families have as many children as they wish.
