National Information, Education and Awareness Centre
The National Information, Education and Awareness Centre (NIVOS) focuses on research and verification of the development of educational tools and examines their influence on shaping the opinions and attitudes of target groups, particularly in relation to risk perception. It also concentrates on fostering proactive attitudes of individuals and groups towards risk elimination and on promoting the understanding of occupational safety and health (OSH) as a value contributing to an improved quality of life.
The Centre ensures the development and operation of the national OSH sectoral portal BOZPinfo, along with interconnected OSH information resources and systems, which serve as tools for the prevention of occupational risks and injuries.
Education is an integral part of NIVOS activities, encompassing preparatory and advisory courses in OSH, as well as intensive training for professionally qualified persons in fire protection. The educational process includes accredited examinations for certified OSH risk prevention specialists and for professionally qualified coordinators in construction projects, as well as authorized examinations for ergonomics specialists. Furthermore, the Centre organizes advanced distance-learning programmes for occupational safety specialists and one-day seminars on current topics.
