Description:

The number of workers aged 65+ in developed countries is expected to increase by up to 40% in the next few decades. It is, therefore, essential to consider ergonomic workplace design and other approaches that are both adapted to older workers and ensure their safety, optimal health and efficient work performance. Moreover, such measures will enable this group to continue working well into old age.

The research is devoted to a holistic analysis of the evaluation of targeted care systems for older employees in the Czech Republic and follows on from ergonomics-related projects that have addressed various aspects of, and approaches to, the given issue across the entire employee age spectrum. The specific issues faced by older employees have, to date, been investigated only marginally and no attention has yet been devoted to detailed research into potential solutions.
