National Information, Education and Awareness Centre
The National Information, Education and Awareness Centre focuses on research into, and the verification of the development of, educational approaches and examines their influence on the formation of opinions and attitudes of specific target groups, especially in the area of risk perception. It also focuses on the creation of active attitudes on the part of both individuals and groups towards risk elimination and the overall understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) as a factor that contributes to improving the quality of life.
The Centre ensures the development and operation of the national OSH sectoral portal OSHinfo (BOZPinfo) sectoral portal and OSH information resources and systems, which serve as tools for the prevention of occupational risks and accidents.
Educational activities form an integral part of the work of the National Information, Education and Awareness Centre, including preparatory and consulting training courses in the field of occupational safety and health and intensive courses for persons professionally qualified in the field of fire protection. Educational services include the organisation of accredited examinations for professionally qualified persons in the area of risk prevention and professionally qualified persons that work as coordinators on construction sites, as well as authorised examinations for specialists in ergonomics. In addition, the centre organises distance learning for occupational safety specialists and one-day seminars on currently important topics.
