Ing. Jiří Tilhon, Ph.D., LL.M.

Jiří Tilhon studied economics, then completed a doctoral program at the Faculty of Safety Engineering, Technical University of Ostrava (program Fire Protection and Industrial Safety), followed by a Master of Laws in Public Administration Studies at the University of Toruń. He has worked continuously in occupational safety and health (OSH) and occupational hygiene since completing secondary school.

For his former employer, he obtained and successfully defended awards in national projects such as Safe Enterprise (2010, 2013) and Health Promoting Enterprise (2011 – First Level; 2014 – Third Level). In 2013, he won the national competition OSH Professional.

Since 2015, he has been employed at the Occupational Safety Research Institute (now RILSA), where he serves as Head of the Department of Testing and Certification (OS/NB 1024). He is also Quality Manager of the Testing Laboratory (ZL 1040) and Quality Manager of the Product Certification Body (COV 3068). Within RILSA, he performs the duties of a legally recognized expert in risk prevention, fire protection, and waste management.

As a court expert in OSH and ergonomics, he is a member of the RILSA Expert Institute and the Chamber of Court Experts of the Czech Republic. He is also a member of examination boards for professional competence in risk prevention and for the qualification of Ergonomics Specialist. He is affiliated with the Czech Ergonomics Society, the Slovak Ergonomics Society, the COSM Technical Committee (advisory body to the Czech Accreditation Institute), acts as an expert assessor for the Czech Accreditation Institute, is a member of TNK 74 (tools), TNK 156 (ergonomics), chair of TNK 3 (personal protective equipment), a member of the ÚNMZ Technical Committee, and part of the reviewer group for the professional journal SWARM.

He is the author of numerous educational materials, scholarly publications, and articles. He has collaborated on dozens of educational and research projects, producing, among other outputs, certified methodologies applicable in OSH.
