OSH
Occupational safety and health (OSH) is an interdisciplinary field that includes the consideration of the various requirements, measures, means and methods that contribute to the creation of working conditions that ensure the health and safety of workers and their ability to perform their work. Its main aims are to create safe working conditions and to ensure their strict observance in the working environment via the application of the latest scientific and technological approaches and methods and knowledge derived from related disciplines in the technical, humanitarian and economic sciences. The overriding aim concerns the synthesis of the research results and their application in practice.
The Institute continuously develops and operates a number of factual, bibliographic and intelligence information systems in the field of OSH. It operates as a specialist facility for the prevention of serious industrial accidents (especially the assessment of safety documentation) and provides educational, awareness-raising and promotional services to clients. Moreover, it also provides advisory, consulting, professional and process analysis services in the fields of ergonomics and risk assessment in the working environment.
