23. 05. 2022

A conference on the theme “Aging is a challenge!” was held in Prague on 19 May 2022. It comprised the last of a series of international conferences held in connection with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs project “Seniors in the regions – the implementation of an ageing policy at the regional level”. The event was moderated by Lucie Vidovićová, a researcher at the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs.

A number of representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, regional authorities and academia took part in the discussion forum. Several topics were debated: pension reform, the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and lessons learned and strategic objectives aimed at further support for healthy and active ageing in the Czech Republic, including the presentation of practical examples of related activities from the city and municipality levels.

For example, we recommend the contribution made by MUDr. Zdeňek Kalvach (from time point 5:16:00 of the recording below), the input provided by Dr. Kvetoslava Repková from the Slovak Institute for Labour and Family Research (time 2:42:50) and the presentation on the Strategic Framework for Preparing for the Ageing of Society 2021–2025 (time 2:05:35).

The conference was moderated by Lucie Vidovićová, a researcher at the Research Institute for Labor and Social Affairs and a member of the regional platform of the afore-mentioned Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs project in the South Moravia region.
